Squad Builder Support Secures Lee Signature

York City Knights are delighted to announce the re-signing of Jack Lee on a two year contract following a donation from the newly established Squad Builder Fund. Lee was very close to signing with the Sheffield Eagles but a late donation allowed the Knights to match the Sheffield offer and retain the players services until the end of the 2013 season. Once the club matched this offer, Lee had no hesitation in pledging his future to the Knights irrespective of what division the club are in next season.
Commenting on the signing Lee said,
“I am very happy to be staying at the club for another two years. I have enjoyed my time at York and I think that with the quality of players we have at the club we can improve further. Obviously I’m looking forward to the next two years but my immediate aim is to help keep the club in the Co-operative Championship and we will all be doing our very best to achieve that”.
A delighted Knights head coach Dave Woods added,
“The signing of Jack Lee is tremendous news for the club. He is one of our most valuable players and I am delighted to have him on board. I’m sure that his signing will encourage some of the other players to stay as he has a lot of respect from his team mates and the staff at the club. I would also like to say a big thank you to all who have donated to the Squad Builder Fund so far. Without this support we would have lost Jack and it just goes to show how valuable this fund will be going forward”.
Anyone who would like to make a donation to the Squad Builder Fund can do so by sending a cheque to the club office, made payable to YCK Squad Builder Fund, by standing order (forms available from the club) or by bank transfer using the following details:
