Hailing from Selby, Ash Winstanley is a recent Scolarship graduate. A full back or winger, he has regularly represented the North Yorkshire Service Area Select side with Tom Holmes and Kris Brining.

Ash played junior ruby initially with the York Acorn club before moving to Wetherby Bulldogs.
